RIGL 40-8; Title XIX of the Social Security Act; Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005

Purpose and Reason:

Effective July 1, 2006, in conformance with the federal Deficit Reduction Act 0f 2005, both applicants and recipients for Medical Assistance must submit verification of both citizenship and identity. Applicants must submit this verification at the time of application for benefits. Recipients who have not previously provided this verification to the Medical Assistance Program must submit this verification at the time of redetermination.
