Purpose and Reason:
As per RIGL 16-60-4, the Rhode Island Board of Regents is responsible for overseeing and establishing teacher certification and licensing requirements. The Rhode Island Educator Code of Professional Responsibility establishes a code of professional responsibility for teachers to ensure that school environments offer equal opportunity for all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, economic status, disability, or sexual orientation.
