Purpose and Reason:
As per RIGL 16-60-4, the Rhode Island Board of Regents is responsible for overseeing and establishing teacher certification and licensing requirements. Establishing parameters for evaluation systems that are the basis for the development, deployment, and advancement stage of an evaluation modesl begins with the development of standards for district-based educator evaluation systems. These standards establish those parameters.
