Purpose and Reason:

The Standards for Educational Leadership in Rhode Island provide an outline of the knowledge, skills and dispositions for educators who assume leadership responsibilities in elementary, middle and secondary schools. The standards offer direction for the preparation of school leaders, the mentoring and coaching of new school leaders, the ongoing professional development of leaders, and the performances on which the leaders will be evaluated.
