Purpose and Reason:
The regulations address four major areas: ensuring equity and consistency across districts through maximum space and cost allowances; implementing a process that allows for adequate planning and review throughout design and construction; addressing quality of the buildings being built through construction standards; and ensuring school facilities are adequately maintained to avoid future large cost renovation projects.
