Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of this rule is to fulfill the statutory requirements of RIGL 28-30-22(b)(1) to "adopt and review protocols and standards of treatment for compensable injury". The purpose of this amendment is to revise the Acupuncture Protocol, Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome Protocol, Herniated Lumbar Disk Protocol, Injuries to the Foot Protocol, Low Back Musculoligamentous Injury Protocol, Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy Protocol, Post Concussion Syndrome Protocol now known as the Post Traumatic Headache Protocol, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Protocol, and Work Hardening Protocol. There is no substantiative difference between the amended rule as proposed and the amended rule as adopted.
