Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of this rule is to fulfill the statutory requirements of RIGL 28-30-22(b)(1) to "adoptand review protocols and standards of treatment for compensable injury". The purpose of this amendment is to revise the: Cervical Musculoligamentous Injury (Sprain Strain), the Protocol for the Management of Acute Injuries to the Knee, the Herniated Cervical Disk Protocol, the Lumbar Fusion Protocol, and the Workers' Comp. Protocols When Primary Injury is Psychiatric/Psychological. Thre is no substantive difference between the amended rule as proposed and the amended rule as adopted.
