Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of amending the regulation is to: Expand acceptable scanning formats and associated requirements for permanent, long-term and unscheduled records, master files, access files, and thumbnail files. Explains PDF and PDF/A formats. Provides detail on storage options. Adds new appendix – Summary Table of Imaging Requirements. Provides recommendations and clarifications to the original adopted rules and regulations.
