The Executive Office of Commerce is the principal agency of the executive branch of state government for managing the promotion of commerce and the economy within the state, providing strategic leadership and direction for all facets of economic development. The Executive Office of Commerce oversees numerous agencies and instrumentalities of the state, including the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, the Department of Business Regulation, the Office of Housing and Community Development, the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission, and the Quonset Development Corporation and works closely with the Department of Labor and Training, Division of Planning, and the Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation.
