Title 230 Department of Business Regulation (includes the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner)
Part 3096 Insurance Regulation 106 - Emergency - Mandatory Prelicensing Education Requirements for Life and Health Insurance Producers
Type of Filing Adoption
Regulation Status Inactive
Effective 07/01/2004 to 10/29/2004

Regulation Authority :

R.I. Gen. Laws Sections 42-14-17 and 42-35-3(5)(b)

Purpose and Reason :

The purpose of this regulation is to establish interim mandatory prelicensing education requirements for Life and Health Insurance Producers. The Director has found that an imminent peril to the public welfare requires adoption of a rule upon less than thirty (30) days notice because R.I.Gen. Laws Section 287-3.1-1 has been repealed. This repeal was effective upon passage and the State of Rhode Island is presently without any mandatory prelicensing education requirements for its life and health producers.
